Google has released its own podcast app for Apple’s mobile operating system: iOS. The app was released for Android about a year and a half ago and there was also a web version. The second version of Google Podcasts will be released with the release for iOS.
The Google Podcasts app is available in the App Store, only works with iOS version 12.0 or higher, and is compatible with the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. It is the first time that the Google app has been released for the Apple operating system. The updated 2.0 version of Google Podcasts is also the version that comes out for iOS, in addition to Android and the web version.
The new design assumes a home screen with new episodes of the podcasts that the user subscribes to, and introduces two new tabs: a tab called Explore, which provides algorithmic personalized recommendations for podcasts that may be unknown to the user is. In addition, there will be a tab called Activity for managing the favorite podcasts. In addition, new episodes of podcasts subscribed to by the user can be automatically downloaded, the topics of episodes can be searched and a dark mode is available.
In the meantime, the roll-out of the new version of Google Podcasts for Android has started, so it may be that this version is not yet available. The 2.0 version is already available for iOS and web users.
