Netflix has ordered a brand new war documentary from director Koen Mortier. The new documentary series will consist of twelve parts and will depict the Second World War. Netflix has signed a contract for this with the Belgian production house Czar.
The new series will be called The Liberation Route and will appear in English. During the twelve episodes Mortier goes in search of the stories of soldiers, resistance fighters and civilians about certain events that took place during the war. The director of the series will collaborate with a team of historians.
Few known stories
The director of the new series The Liberation Route emphasizes that many lesser-known stories will be discussed. For example, there is the great misleading plan of the Allies which, with thousands of plastic boats and tanks, wanted the Germans to believe that an invasion from the English port of Dover was being prepared.
When the series will be shown on Netflix is currently unknown.
