Sega has established a new development studio in Japan called Sega Sapporo Studio.
The company did that last December. Sega Sapporo Studio is to function as the second main development studio next to the headquarters. As the name implies, the office is located in Sapporo, the capital of the Japanese prefecture of Hokkaido.
The studio was established to enable stable, high-quality game development in connection with the global growth of the game industry. Local employees will design and program games.
Sega Sapporo Studio is led by CEO Takaya Segawa, who joined Sega in 1992 and has led the development of Phantasy Star Online 2, among other things.
