The short clip that appeared online earlier this week, which people suspected on the internet to be images of Elden Ring, turns out to be from a completely different project.
The six seconds of images that appeared online are from concept artist Jack Phan. The complete video of him can be seen here, which also includes the clip that was suggested to be from Elden Ring. The clip was posted to 4Chan with the same watermark as the previously leaked Elden Ring footage from March – presumably to mislead fans.
Elden Ring was announced during E3 2019 by publisher Bandai Namco and developer FromSoftware. That studio is best known for Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, Bloodborne and the Dark Souls games.
No further official information about Elden Ring has been released since the game’s announcement. What is clear is that the game has a fantasy setting and that A Song of Ice and Fire writer George R.R. Martin is involved in the project. Various journalists, including Jeff Grubb and Jason Schreier, announced earlier this year that new information about the game would not be long in coming.
Earlier this week, FromSoftware parent company Kadowaka Corp. has adjusted its expectations for the fiscal annual figures downwards. This suggests that Elden Ring will not be released before April 2022. However, a concrete release period has not been announced. Below is the game’s announcement trailer.
